This position is located in the DEA, Diversion Control Division, Reports Analysis Unit (DOIR).

This position(s) primary purpose is to support a team of technical experts and leadership within the DOIR that are responsible for compiling information, analyzing trends, auditing registrant compliance, and identifying systemic errors or omissions.

Duties

Help

As a Program Assistant your typical work assignments may include:

  • Typing a variety of narrative and tabular material such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, and forms from rough draft or clean copy.
  • Integrating several types of software, such as spreadsheet database, word processing, desktop publishing, and graphics applications, to generate specific working documents and forms.
  • Arranging and filing material using standard chronological or subject matter order where the classification is readily identified.
  • Consolidating information from analysis reports into a presentation format which includes narratives and graphs to be used by management.
  • Scheduling meetings and conferences, ensuring that leaders are briefed on the meeting topics.

Applicants must meet the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of the announcement. If you are qualifying based on education or if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcripts with your application.

Applicants applying for the GS-07 must meet the following requirement:

Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-06 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: GS-07: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: 1) generating reports; 2) reviewing documents for omissions and inconsistencies; 3) using office automation software to produce documents; and 4) coordinating meetings.

Applicants applying for the GS-08 must meet the following requirement:

GS-08: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: 1) summarizing data from several sources; 2) entering data in and retrieving data from electronic information systems; 3) performing basic analysis of data; and 4) independently completing research to validate data.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
