Duties

Help
  • You will perform tasks involved in the Government's planning, award and administration of contracts.
  • You will assist in the development, acquisition and sustainment of state-of-the-art equipment and training through the use of legal, efficient, and cost effective acquisition processes.
  • You will participate in improving self and organizational effectiveness.
  • You will provide responsive, timely support of customer, actively supports achievement of Command and Acquisition/Contract goals and objectives.
  • You will review purchase requests for appropriate documentation.

  • Relocation expenses (i.e. PCS) may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
  • Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Additionally, you may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.
  • The incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Periodic travel is required.
  • The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Government no-fee passport for international travel.
  • The incumbent must present a neat personal and professional appearance. Dress and personal appearance shall be conservative and commensurate with the high standards traditionally associated with representatives of the Marine Corps.

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Employing acquisition processes, analyzing costs and prices, and adhering to regulations in the administration, negotiation, management, and planning of contracts.

GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing costs and prices, and adhering to regulations in the administration and negotiation.

GS-9: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: participating in routine procurement projects, compiling findings, and briefing team members; assisting with and advising on standard acquisition planning, contract preparation, and routine contract administration.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field;

or

At least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.

In Lieu of experience for GS-11

3 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

In Lieu of experience for GS-9

2 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
