Duties

Help

The duty station location will be determined upon selection, to include current employees of the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration based on their current Core office location listed in this announcement.

These positions can be filled in any of the following TIGTA locations: Fresno CA, Oakland CA, Washington DC, Chamblee GA, Kansas City, MO, New York NY, Cincinnati OH, Memphis TN, and Ogden UT.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Serve as a systems administrator for workstations, applications, typically performing a full range of administrative tasks for workstations, services, and applications, including managing services, applications, access controls, testing software, testing hardware, setting policies, configuring and maintaining end user devices (including mobile devices).
  • Ensure TIGTA workstations are secure from vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Evaluate need and compatibility of software patches and updates. Work with Cybersecurity to evaluate and resolve security vulnerabilities found in the workstation environment. Identifies, evaluates, and reports on problematic trends and patterns. Make appropriate adjustments to optimize performance, correct existing problems, and prevent recurrence. Rigorously apply information security procedures and protocols, in compliance with Security requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to workstations and mobile devices applications and services. Identify and troubleshoot problems and issues associated with TIGTA applications and services. Develop methods or procedures for solving maintenance problems.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized Experience:
For the GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following:
- Hands on experience with the deployment and support of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions; AND
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and Autopilot to manage polices and system deployments; AND
- Hands-on experience managing devices imaging and applications using Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Intune; AND
- Hands on experience with Active Directory, OU (Organizational Unit) management, and GPOs (Group Policy Object); AND
- Experience supporting an O365 environment that includes MS Office, OneDrive, Teams (application and devices), and Defender for Endpoint.

For the GS-12: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following:
- Hands on experience with the deployment and support of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions; AND
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and Autopilot to manage polices and system deployments; AND
- Hands-on experience managing devices using Microsoft Endpoint Manager; AND
- Hands on experience with Active Directory, OU (Organizational Unit) management, and GPOs (Group Policy Object).

For the GS-11: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following:
- Hands on experience with the deployment and support of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions; AND
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and Autopilot to manage polices and system deployments; AND
- Hands-on experience managing devices using Microsoft Endpoint Manager.

Minimum Proficiencies:

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (CONTINUED):
  • A one year probationary period may be required. Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • You will be required to regularly report to the Duty Station listed above. While teleworking is an option, approval is at management's discretion based on duties, business needs, performance, etc.
