Duties

Help
  • Writes and reviews all acquisition packages (e.g., Performance Work Statements (PWS0, Acquisition Strategy, Independent Government Cost Estimate, Justification and Approval) before submittal to internal/external contracting agencies.
  • Provides acquisition guidance on matters relating to acquisition, procurement, pre award and post award contract administration, management, reporting, funding shortfalls, and logistics related issues.
  • Coordinates procurement requests reviews and discusses strategies with external contracting agencies as required.
  • Provides technical supervision for program and project management, strategic planning, capital planning, governance, process improvements, performance metrics/measures, requirement generation, acquisition/development, operations support.
  • Plans work to be accomplished by assigned staff, exercises technical control over the work performed by contractor personnel within the branch and establishes and maintains schedules and timelines for work completions.
  • Provides guidance, counsel, or instruction to subordinates.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirements for SUPERVISORY BUSINESS STRATEGY OFFICER:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes constructing acquisition packages; providing technical oversight for project management and/or strategic planning and process improvements; planning work to be accomplished by staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
