Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Help
  • Evaluate procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and quality products.
  • Participate in the improvement process for the depot internal audit program.
  • Compute data through the use of reports or charts using statistical methods to summarize results.
  • Monitor calibration programs to ensure test and measurement equipment received regular scheduled maintenance.
  • Conduct on-site visits to customers to provide services such as technical analysis, guidance, and assistance to resolve problems with failure and/or use of equipment.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • You may be expected to travel 10% Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) for business purposes.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years.
  • Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion.
  • Position may be converted to permanent without further competition.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which which includes: 1) Utilizing quality assurance principles, concepts, and methodologies such as analyzing, evaluating and inspecting production methods, processes and testing techniques on products such as weapon systems, vehicles and associated equipment, 2) Identifying inadequacies and requesting corrective actions and/or program changes based on findings that impact overall service effectiveness, OR 3) Performing statistical and quality data analysis and evaluation to determine if products comply with rules and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed a the second lower grade/level position in the Federal Service (GS-07).

OR

Education: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. Combination of Education and Experience:A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify. You MUST submit a copy of your transcript with your application package or you will be rated ineligible. See: Transcripts and Licenses

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
