  • Serves as Printing Plant Worker Leader for Custodial Workers, KX-3566-01, KX-3566-03 and a Fork Lift Operator, KX-570-04
  • Assures needed materials and tools are available, and needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
  • Assigns work to others, assures that staff work on recurring assignments, and uses initiative to resolve routine problems.
  • Responsible for spot checking to ensure that quality standards are being achieved.
  • Performs daily, weekly, and other periodic cleaning tasks in the offices, lobby, hallways, computer room, etc., and sets up for meetings in conference rooms and similar type rooms. Note you used performs sweeping and mopping in task question

  • Physical - Effort: Delivery activity involves walking from place to place for short periods of time. Moving between floors may be done via elevators. Cleaning activity requires standing, walking, or sitting and the ability to move hands and arms.
  • Physical - Effort: Duties Articles are lifted or transported from place to place are limited to 80 pounds or less.
  • Working Conditions: Works inside and outside with shorter periods outside inclement weather. Works in both dimly lit and well lighted areas. Work is on tin roofs, cement floors, parking lots, ladders, catwalks, and steel platforms.
  • Working Conditions: Cleaning activity takes place in offices, bathrooms, corridors, meeting rooms, etc. Incumbent is exposed to dirt, disagreeable odors and possible skin irritation from cleaning.
  • Selectee may be required to pass all preemployment requirements prior to appointment.
  • Selectee may be required to obtain and maintain a suitability clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a fork lift truck license

Qualifications

To qualify for the position, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of a Printing Plant Worker (Leader).

Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element, Job Element 73: The Ability to Lead or Supervise to be considered for this position. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the online questionnaire. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT ELEMENT below is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. The screen-out element for this position is: The Ability to do Lead or Supervise: These duties include: 1) Possess skill in setting the pace by personal performance, instructing and guiding workers at all stages by setting an example for others to follow, displaying good morale, attention to work, compliance, safety and good housekeeping rules and practices. 2) Possess the ability to handle and control light and heavy-weight powered equipment such as vacuum cleaners, high-speed buffers, polishers, floor scrubbers, etc., and make minor repairs when necessary. 3) Sets the pace for Fork Truck Lift operations to lead in operating an electrically powered industrial fork truck or a power hand jack to load/unload trash hoppers, skids, pallets, bales or rolls.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Background Investigation:
To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background investigation for a non-sensitive, low-risk suitability clearance. This review could include financial issues such as delinquency in the payment of debts, child support and/or tax obligations, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs. Depending on the type of background investigation required, the security process may take between 6 weeks to 12 months.

The agency may rescind the tentative offer, if the candidate is unable to obtain an interim clearance.
