Duties

  • Serves as a Senior Intelligence Specialist in the Cyber Military Intelligence Group (CMIG) Analysis and Control Element (ACE) performing intelligence tasks and/or threat research and analysis.
  • Produces scientific and technical (Scientific and Technical) intelligence products, including forecasts and overall capabilities assessments in a difficult and complex intelligence subject area which has application to major customer requirements.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and interprets intelligence data on foreign research development and technological advances in assigned areas, and collates, integrates, evaluates, and prepares assigned intelligence projects.
  • Servers as a Senior Intelligence Specialist within the CMIG ACE maintaining close liaison with the Army intelligence community in intelligence activities/departments.
  • Responsible for conducting and directing both short term and long-range planning efforts to analyze, assess, and integrate the INSCOM’s mission into the full range of Army, Department of the Army, and, Department of Defense plans and activities.
  • Serves as a technical and advanced scientific authority for cyberspace operations, responsible for planning, coordinating, and synthesizing research and development from internal and external subject matter experts.
  • Responsible for all-source intelligence analysis and assessments, with primary emphasis on impacts to cyber assets, and processes.
  • Identifies intelligence gaps and prepares detailed specifications for collection or changes to standing requirements, based on knowledge of collections systems.
  • Conducts comprehensive research on complex Scientific and Technical topics, either independently or as part of a larger analytical effort.
  • Coordinates with originating elements and other intelligence activities on matters of approach, coverage and treatment.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency and Defense Intelligence Agency accredited facilities and networks. [Military and External Affiliates Division (MEAD) Security In-Processing (SIP) process.]
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 15% or less of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible schedule, may include weekend and holidays.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience equivalent to at least the GG-12 grade level in the Federal service which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Conducting tasks relative to intelligence and/or cyberspace threat research and analysis; conducting interpretation, evaluation, integration, production, and dissemination of intelligence products; providing briefs to senior management with status of major analytical projects or assigned intelligence programs; and, assisting the preparation, coordination, and implementation of intelligence production and analysis activities in support of operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-12).

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
