Help
  • You will serve as an installation-based Integrated Prevention Coordinator and is a recognized authority in implementing prevention efforts.
  • You will identify existing or potential risk and protective factors that could lead to problematic/destructive behaviors and recommend preventive measures that the installation, command, or unit can take to address risk and protective factors.
  • You will assist with program evaluation using analytical techniques and statistical methods to determine program impacts on critical readiness outcomes.
  • You will develop population-based and/or targeted prevention efforts to support the unique needs of the installation, command, and/or unit level.
  • You will give routine presentations to leadership on command prevention efforts and impact.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applied and executed large-scale prevention activities across installation and tenant commands to optimize group health, resulting in decreased rates of destructive behaviors (suicide, sexual assault, and substance misuse). 2)Conducted formal assessments and program evaluations to provide command teams with the actionable tools, skills, and prevention knowledge required to bridge systemic gaps; 3)Consolidated, tracked, and analyzed complex data streams from command climate reports and unit metrics to isolate localized trends, forecast risks, and deliver strategic recommendations to leadership. **NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.

Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

Substitution of education for experience: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position
OR
Successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree.
