Help
  • Develops, analyzes, assesses, advises on, and improves the effectiveness of the Command Readiness programs supporting 45 Combatant Commands, Military Services, Defense Agencies, and Joint Field Activities (45 CC/S/A/FA).
  • Interacts daily with senior military/civilian/commercial personnel and organizations.
  • Conducts studies and analyses of Command and DoD initiatives and programs, including the development of performance measures to support understanding critical readiness gaps that impact efficient management and oversight of resources.
  • Participates in developing, training, and executing Command Readiness Operations by preparing diverse elements for their appropriate organizational roles and functions.
  • Monitors the Command's personnel, equipping, and training levels as they relate to the readiness program and resourcing issues.
  • Reviews Concepts of Operations, Plans, and Orders to ensure the operational approach and directed operations, activities, and investments align to and support the accomplishment of prescribed Command Mission Essential Tasks/Functions (MET/Fs).

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
  • Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.
  • This is a term appointment not to exceed three (3) years.
  • This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13 level, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in developing and planning an effective readiness program, conducting analysis of plans, policies and procedures, and assessing critical readiness gaps.

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

There is no substitution of education for qualifying experience at the GG-13 grade level.

  • This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
  • This is a TERM appointment not-to-exceed (NTE) three (3) years.
  • If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment.
  • This position is not open to retired federal employees receiving an annuity. Reemployed annuitants will not be considered.
  • This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service.
  • Permanent employees who apply, are selected for, and ultimately accept this position will be converted to a Cyber Term appointment.
  • This position may be non-competitively converted to a permanent cyber excepted service appointment without further competition after the completion of three (3) years of continuous, active, and satisfactory service in this position.
  • A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
  • Situational telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination.
  • We may use this announcement to fill additional vacancies within 90 days of the closing date.
