About the Position: Incumbent will be part of the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM), G1, Military Personnel Division team located on Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. CECOM is a major subordinate command (MSC) of the U.S. Army Materiel Command, with a global mission to research, develop, acquire, field, and sustain advanced communications and electronics systems for the Army. CECOM has a workforce of approximately 6,500 military and civilian employees located world-wide.

Duties

Help
  • Oversee complex military HR programs such as evaluations or awards and advising on regulatory requirements.
  • Analyzing officer and enlisted strength, projected gains/losses, and manning requirements using current modernized systems
  • Performs statistical analysis on central selection board results for promotions and reports findings to the command group and senior leaders.
  • Monitors and analyzes data from modern military HR personnel and medical readiness databases
  • Manages the Command's military Awards program and the consolidated rating scheme for military evaluation reports, serving as the principal technical reviewer for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance.
  • Analyzes known and projected changes in mission and workload to prepare, staff, and submit recommended changes to the Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) and Military Acquisition Position List (MAPL).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11/NH-02 grade level in the Federal service which includes: (1) Allocating military personnel; (2) Monitoring automated military personnel system reports; (3) Reviewing request for personnel actions; (4) Operating a command sponsorship program; (5) Advising on military regulation requirements ;(6) Managing military awards and evaluations.


Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
