As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist, you will:

  • Exercise delegated authority to oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of IT initiatives and operations for the branch.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day IT operations, provide restoration of IT services, own and manage IT incidents through their lifecycle, and provide thorough and effective communication to users and management.
  • Establish program goals and objectives and develop and approve multiyear and long-range work plans and policies, as well as manage the overall work to enhance achievement of the branch's goals and objectives.

  • All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines.
  • All newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period. During this time, your performance, conduct, and suitability for continued employment will be evaluated. You will not automatically convert to permanent status at the end of the probationary (or trial) period. Your supervisor must affirmatively determine that continued employment is in the best interest of the Federal service.   • A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
  • Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9. Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
  • Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel.
  • May be required to file a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Be sure all experience is documented in your resume by indicating place of employment, job title, length of time performing the duties, and the name and contact information for the supervisor. We must be able to verify this experience in your resume in order for you to receive credit.

Specialized Experience for the GS-14, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level ofdifficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for thisposition is defined as:

-Directed enterprise IT infrastructure operations supporting mission-critical business systems (i.e. networks, servers,storage, virtualization, Active Directory, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and data center services), ensuring highavailability and operational continuity; AND
-Led continuous IT service delivery, incident management, and outage restoration efforts, serving as the seniorescalation authority for technical issues and critical production system failures; AND
-Managed enterprise IT projects and strategic initiatives, developing business cases, project plans, implementationstrategies, and support documentation to deliver technology solutions aligned with organizational objectives; AND
-Supervised multidisciplinary teams of IT professionals and contractors, overseeing workforce planning, performancemanagement, employee development, staffing actions, and technical training programs.

In addition to meeting specialized experience, individuals must have experience demonstrating each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Decision Making, Information Management, Interpersonal Skills, Oral Communication, Problem Solving, Teamwork, and Technical Competence. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13level for 52 weeks.
