Duties

Help
  • The incumbent collects, receives, identities, sorts, packs boxes, moves material to the baler machine, and operates the bales insuring the material is correct for the process.
  • The operation requires the incumbent to identify the recycle material during the sorting process in accordance with general instructions and standard procedures and policies of the recycle operation.
  • Implements, enforces, and ensures compliance with QRP and environmental regulations to provide community business operations which meet the needs and interest of the military community. Assists in establishing/operating a waste minimization yard.
  • Able to operate a forklift and stake body truck for QRP operations including: moving, loading, unloading transferring, transporting, stacking, and un-stacking recycle material, other goods, boxes, crates, and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a physical examination and a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Failure to satisfactorily complete the physical and/or background checks will result in separation.
  • The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license and may be required to carry personal liability insurance at the level required by the post and State requirements.
  • It may be required that the incumbent obtain a commercial driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work Monday-Friday 7:30am to 16:30 with 1 hour lunch.
  • A heath assessment and physical are required.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Progressive experience that is closely associated with the duties above.

The above minimum qualifications must be described within the duties of previous work experience listed on the applicant's resume and/or supporting documents. A copy of all documents must be submitted at the time of application.

** Highly Preferred - Resume must demonstrate experience in the highly preferred criteria.

  • Three-plus years experience in Qualified Recycling Program (QRP) at a large installation or equivalent civilian facility.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. All others may be referred if management does not make a selection from the Highly Preferred list.

PCS Costs
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
