Duties

Help

  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Material Management Flight, Asset Management Section ensuring that the Central Storage, Hazardous Materials Pharmacy (HAZMART), Aircraft Parts Store (APS), Mobility Readiness Spares Packages (MRSP), Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) Elements complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
  • Determines stock levels needed for non-recurring, specialized items based on usage, inventory, project demands, seasonal demands, changing customer needs, and projected depletion.
  • Directs and conducts extensive searches for information pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply transactions and patterns. Develops policy, plans and organizes contract requirements to meet Air Staff directives and the SBD 1 mission. Develops Statements of Work.
  • Represents 21 Logistics Readiness Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

  • This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force,
  • national security, and public safety. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing.
  • This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
  • This position is designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations.
  • Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available

Qualifications

The duties of this position meet all requirements as a category 4 designation and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively. This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and cannot become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW: DoDD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve,")

In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions, Distribution Facilities and Storage 2030.


GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of general experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include knowledge of general federal acquisition programs, supply programs, inventory management supplies management, storage and distribution, supplies fuels management, munitions management, skill in use of technical orders, stock lists, cataloging data systems, federal and military supply standards and specifications. Knowledge of policies and procedures for requisitioning and issuing equipment, supplies, packing, cleaning, preservation, containers, environmental controls, marking and labeling, distribution facilities and storage management functions and techniques, knowledge of warehousing and disposal procedures and plans. Knowledge of supply structure, supply codes, and organizational interfaces both internal and external, and the ability to update procedures and use automated supply systems and data bases. Knowledge of quality assurance and inspection practices, procedures, and principles related to a wide range of materials, complete equipment items, technical components, parts and commodities, ability to analyze problems and to develop timely and economical solutions to problems encountered. Knowledge of the identification, storage, handling, and reporting procedures of controlled and hazardous material, to include Weapons Related Materiel. Knowledge of policies, methods and procedures for material identification, type classification, serviceability, and approval for use; knowledge of procedures, supply catalogs, technical manuals, and equipment drawings required for product and equipment verification.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of a wide range of logistics management operations that include supply and transportation
    regulations, policies, producers, techniques and laws and of standard base supply system computer policies,
    procedures and programs.
  • Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
  • Broad technical knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions, such as
    AFMAN 23-110, AFJMAN 23-210 and AFI 24-203.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and apprise the staff of an
    organization through subordinate supervisors.
  • Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet
    program requirements and objectives within available resources.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply applicable reference material such as regulations, manuals, catalogs,
    records, orders, etc. To accomplish task and resolve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

AcqDemo Expanded Probationary Period for Supervisors and Managers: An additional supervisory probationary period of one year may be required when an employee is officially assigned to a different supervisory position.

This is an acquisition demonstration project position NH-02 equivalent to a GS-5 to GS-11.
