Help

In this position, you will:

  • Lead complex, high-hazard inspections across diverse workplaces to evaluate technically difficult operations and enforce compliance.
  • Serve as technical authority providing line managers and division safety personnel with expert hazard recognition and abatement options.
  • Evaluate major construction safety plans and job hazard analyses (JHAs) to ensure strict adherence to Federal, State, and agency protocols.
  • Analyze agency-wide safety data to identify systemic trends, isolate program gaps, and engineer corrective strategic initiatives.
  • Design and executed safety training curricula to systematically elevate staff occupational safety and health (OSH) competencies.
  • Advise executive leadership on systemic improvements to optimize organizational OSH awareness and modernize safety systems.
  • Direct specialized OSH programs and managed high-value safety contracts to ensure full regulatory and operational compliance.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 (ZA-II at NIST) level.

Specialized experience is defined as:

  • Experience in reviewing and applying occupational safety and health (OSH) federal regulations, agency policies, and workplace practices as they apply to maintenance/operations and construction activities; to include managing workplace injury process, hazardous materials databases, and reviewing safety plans.
  • Experience conducting workplace OSH investigations, annual inspections, and communicating the information to management.
  • Experience coordinating and developing safety training.
In addition to the required specialized experience; all applicants must have a valid U.S. drivers license.
