Duties

Help
  • Assist in developing an effective outreach plan by coordinating with Individual Indian Mineral Owners, allottee associations, Indian tribes, other Federal agencies, and industry on the topics to be coved and the dates and location for the meetings.
  • Assist in the design of presentations concerned with standard ONRR operating processes.
  • Under guidance of a senior Analyst, participates in outreach efforts that involve educational seminars and communication with IIMOs, Indian tribes, allottee associations, other Federal agencies, and private industry.
  • Communicate in person and by telephone on a daily basis with IIMOs, tribal personnel, BIA, BLM, BTFA employees in a tactful, diplomatic, and helpful manner.
  • Respond to routine inquiries from Indian clients and refers complex inquiries or problems to a higher graded analyst.
  • Interface with other team members to ensure consistent application and interpretation of policies and procedures.

Qualifications

At the GS-7, you must meet one of the following qualifications:

A. 1 full year of graduate level education (i.e. 18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours of education); OR
B. A bachelor's degree and Superior Academic Achievement (SAA): If you are claiming SAA, you must submit documentation by the closing date of the announcement showing that you have successfully completed all requirements for a bachelor's degree AND meet one of the following requirements:
Superior Academic Achievement is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.
1. Class Standing: Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.
2. Grade-Point Average (G.P.A.): Applicants must have a grade-point average of a. 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; orb. 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.
3. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society; OR
C. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes: (1) experience in resolving minerals discrepancies and routine issues with internal and external entities as appropriate; (2) using automated systems to obtain and analyze minerals data; (3) responding to simple external data requests. OR
D. A combination of specialized experience and graduate level education as defined above which equals 100%. (Note: Applicants who select this response must provide transcripts as verification of their education).

At the GS-9 level, you must meet one of the following qualifications:

A.A Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or I have a LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR
B. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes:1) reviewing and analyzing minerals errors or exceptions; (2) resolving minerals discrepancies and routine issues with internal and external entities as appropriate; (3) using automated systems to obtain and present data to support various organizational projects; (4) responding to requests or recommending courses of action to higher-level analysts or a team leader. OR
C. A combination of specialized experience and graduate level education as defined above which equals 100%. (Note: Applicants who select this response must provide transcripts as verification of their education).
