Duties

Help

As a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST, GS-2001-9, you will:

  • Performs developmental assignments of moderately difficult and complex nature consisting of well-precedented tasks designed to orient the employee in the application of General Supply programs and activities.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE), to include Rough Terrain Container Handler (RTCH).
  • Operate Semi Truck with Trailer for same day routes, Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) require
  • Incumbent determines the practices and procedures to use in accomplishing conventional tasks and interprets and adapts guidelines in order to resolve procedural or factual issues.
  • Carries out special projects and participates in special initiatives and studies.
  • Prepares written correspondence and other documentation.
  • Supervisor or a higher-graded specialist assists in problem solving when necessary.
  • Searches technical literature, reports, and other reference material to locate information requested by senior personnel.

Qualifications

General Experience:

Experience, education or training involving administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work which provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems.


Specialized Experience:

Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training dealing with cost estimates, budgets or funding management. Experience conducting extensive and exhaustive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for supply activities.

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements.

Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.

Telework

If you are currently active duty, you may submit written documentation (certification) from your branch of service certifying that you are expected to be discharged or released from active duty under honorable conditions no later than 120 days after the date the certification is signed. The certification should also include when your terminal leave will begin, your rank and dates of active duty service.
