Duties

Help

  • Provides operational support and expertise to the ADPCS, participating in executive leadership discussions, decisions, and policymaking.
  • Executes responsibilities through analyses, coordination, planning, administration, development, interpretation, delegation, and good judgment.
  • Directly supervises 2 Supervisory Program Specialists (GS-12) with 6 timekeepers and 6 NA transporters who are responsible for all correspondence and action items for all of Nursing Services and Patient Care Services and 1 Administrative Officer (GS-9) responsible for all nurse qualification reviews/actions, travel, board minutes, and functional statements for all nurses.
  • Plans, organizes, assigns, sets work standards and reviews work of subordinates under Patient Care Services.
  • Informs higher level supervisor of anticipated vacancies and prepares written justification for replacement or need of additional staffing; interviews applicants for vacancies; determines their suitability for the position; and makes recommendations for selection to fill vacant positions.
  • Responsible for independently conducting special organizational studies concerning workflow operations and forecasting of manpower, equipment and space utilization and requirements critical in the management of the
    Patient Care Services and the facility.
  • Coordinates local activities in support of external surveying organizations such as the Office of Inspector General, General Accounting Office, Office of Management and Budget, Veterans Service Organizations, Administrative Investigation Boards, Office of Medical Investigation, and other special investigatory groups.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the range of administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the operation of a healthcare facility.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 07:30am-4:00pm (Subject to change based on the needs of the agency.)

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience : To qualify at the GS-13 grade, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher. Specialized Experience:

  • Experience as an administrative officer or higher.
  • Experience interpreting guidelines, policy, or procedures.
  • Experience in Human Resources actions.
  • Experience in managing funds or resources.
  • Supervisory experience.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Demands:
The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.

Work Environment:
Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office. May require occasional travel.

Education

There is no educational substitution for the GS-13 level.
