Duties

Help
  • You will be responsible for full range of pre-employment/in-processing to include making job offers, reviewing employment eligibility forms, scheduling physical/security appointments, etc.
  • You will perform HR work requiring knowledge of staffing terminology, requirements, procedures, and function to process HR documents.
  • You will receive, review, and screen request for travel and transportation benefits for employees and/or their dependents.
  • You will establish and/or maintain various program files, instructions, and subject matter files.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

FOR GS-05: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-04) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing personnel support functions (e.g. applicant onboarding; new employee in-processing; maintaining personnel files); and entering data into an automated personnel system (e.g. Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS)).

FOR GS-06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying Human Resources (HR) rules and procedures to provide personnel support functions (e.g. applicant onboarding; new employee in-processing; maintaining position descriptions and HR documents) and utilizing an automated personnel system (e.g. Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS)) to code and process personnel actions.

FOR GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying proficiency of Human Resources (HR) rules and procedures to provide personnel support functions (e.g. conducting new employee orientation briefings and answering employment questions; accomplishing pre-employment/in-processing), and utilizing an automated personnel system (e.g. Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS)) to code and process personnel actions.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education:

FOR GS-05:
Successful completion of 4 years above high school education

FOR GS-06 & GS-07:
Successful completion of at least one year of graduate level education that is directly related to this position.

Additional information

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Vacancies filled from this announcement may be filled at any grade level listed.

If selected below the full performance level, you may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.
