Duties

Help

This position is located at the 162nd WG, Tucson, Arizona, in support of the 214th AMXS mission. The position is administratively owned by the FSS, as reflected in the Unit Manning Document (UMD), and falls under the supervisory control of the CSS Superintendent for full-time resource management. The primary purpose of this role is to evaluate and manage the training and education program on behalf of the ANG. The incumbent provides overall oversight and management of the training and educational program, ensuring training compliance, readiness, and career development support across multiple units. The position serves as a liaison between the units they support and the Force Support Squadron (FSS) Force Development Office (FDO), which is the Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) for training programs. All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with the Personnel Services Delivery Guide (PSDG) to ensure standardization and compliance with established policies and procedures.

  • This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. (cont.)
  • Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance by the National Guard, Director of Manpower and Personnel (NGB-J1).
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a secret security clearance within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Knowledge of Army or Air Force education and training programs regarding their principles and procedures. Experience in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products; effective writing skills; editing practices; instructional media application, training reporting, program and curriculum validation, and implementation procedures. Experience in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings; or assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; and military personnel classification system and policies. Experience in the capabilities of communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts. Experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):

1. Ability to lead the planning, development, and evaluation of group-wide education and training initiatives, establishing a cohesive training strategy and ensuring compliance through coordination with subordinate or assigned Unit Training Managers (UTMs).

2. Ability to provide guidance and quality assurance of Career Development Course administration across the assigned organizations.

3. Ability to provide policy interpretation, as directed through the FDO, from Headquarters (HQ) and Major Command(MAJCOM) levels, ensuring the seamless integration of these policies into all unit-level training programs.

4. Ability to conduct Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) and Evaluate Unit Training Programs.

5. Knowledge in managing Formal Schools and Distance Learning Integration.
