***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POISITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP***

This position is located within an Air National Guard, Aircraft Maintenance Organization. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) T32 National Guard position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. The primary purpose of this position is to perform preliminary analysis of long term forecasting of readiness and budgets

.1. Plans, organizes, and oversees all unit level deployment activities. Configures and maintains functional Unit Type Codes (UTCs) as postured by MAJCOM FAMs (Functional Area Managers) using available unit assets.

2. Performs analysis activities. Establishes metric and system analysis systems for unit and higher level management to assess the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory procedures.

3. Provides technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership regarding unit deployment program. Advises commander on the direction, management, and operation of all aspects of unit deployment capabilities.

4. Ensures personnel and equipment readiness. Ensures the unit is ready to meet wartime and peacetime mobility taskings by scheduling and tracking unit deployment training.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Michigan Air National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the Michigan Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Michigan Air National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

MILITARY GRADE: E4-E6
Selectee(s) must be within the military grade(s) listed in this job announcement prior to the effective date of placement into the technician position to ensure to avoid grade inversion, as determined by the Human Resources Office (HRO). Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (Grade Inversion). Enlisted members currently at a higher grade than allowed by the position (see Military Grade Requirement above) may apply; however, they must administratively reduce prior to appointment and provide confirmation of the reduction to HRO.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

1 year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures.

You must meet the following Education requirement to qualify for education in lieu of specialized experience for this position:


master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related

SELECTIVE SERVICE:

Upon acceptance of a military technician position military members who are currently receiving a military Reenlistment/Extension Bonus (REB) or GI Bill-SR Kicker may lose incentive eligibility and may be subject to termination or suspension of incentive (includes indefinite and temporary technicians on assignment for more than 180 days in any continuous 12-month period). Are advised to meet with education specialist to review contract.

NOTE: If the individual selected is currently on a Title 10 or Title 32 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

-Knowledge of the theory and principles of management and organization, including administrative practices and procedures pertaining to areas of responsibility, channels of communication, delegation of authority, and routing of correspondence.
-Knowledge of the administrative processes and documentation requirements to ensure deployment readiness.
-Skills to adapt analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of the deployment program and in developing new and modified methods.
-Skill to apply analytical and evaluative techniques in the identification, consideration, and resolution of deployment issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature
