Qualifications
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. Physical Effort: Heavy and strenuous physical effort is required by the operator in constantly reaching, bending, running and moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to make frequent adjustments necessary to operate the various pieces of equipment. Considerable strain is encountered by the constant vibration of the equipment operating over rough surfaces. Frequently, the operator is required to work in awkward or strained positions. Shall be capable of wearing all safety equipment required to perform assigned tasks. Normally, lifts up to 50 pounds but may lift up to 100 pounds.
Working Conditions: Operator performs work in all types of weather, often in open driver's seat or platforms or slopes, grades and rolling surfaces. The operator is exposed to injury due to possibility of equipment overturning when operating in more difficult circumstances. Incumbent is subject to noise, vibration, dust, dirt, cold, insect stings, and fumes from the motor and exhaust.
