Duties

Help
  • Serve as Program Manager to assigned safety program areas.
  • Manage Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) fit test program and maintains in-depth knowledge of principles, controls and relevant codes in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Administer International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 45001 Safety Management System.
  • Administer personal protective equipment (PPE) Program.
  • Engage and actively participate in the Safety Hazard Reporting program.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes1) Creating safety awareness documents to support workplace safety initiatives; 2) Gathering data used for reports to support management decision-making; AND 3) Preparing a variety of documents using computer software applications to support office operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applying laws and regulatory procedures to advise on technical Safety and Occupational Health requirements; 2) Creating safety awareness bulletins and memorandums to promote workplace safety AND 3) Communicating safety information effectively to ensure clear understanding. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

GS-6 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

GS-7 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Education
