Duties

Help
  • You will provide direct administrative support for the branches.
  • You will provide backup assistance to the division secretary and other branch secretaries when needed.
  • You will receive visitors and phone calls, ascertain nature of request and directing callers to appropriate staff.
  • You will type rough drafts, notes, oral instructions, various correspondence, forms reports and specifications utilizing a wide variety of technical terminology.
  • You will input all transactions data into financial databases.
  • You will prepare paperwork for issuance and/or renewal of contractor badges and CAC cards for contractors.
  • You will work with office automation equipment and software.
  • You will organize the flow of administrative processes in an office.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-01/04) or pay band (NC-01) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: (1) Utilizing office automation equipment and processes; (2) Performing administrative and clerical duties i.e filing, answering phone calls, making appointments; (3) Generating reports, typing and ensuring grammatical correctness of correspondence and ensuring proper routing procedures are followed; (4) Providing assistance to others through customer service in an office/business setting; (5) Maintaining calendars.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

Successful completion of education 4 years above the high school level in any field is creditable for this position;

OR,

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

Additional information

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
