Duties

Help
  • You will provide security and administrative support to direct funded Special Access Program (SAP) security requirements.
  • You will provide support in the areas of program protection planning; personnel, industrial, physical and Information Systems (IS).
  • You will implement policies, instructions, procedures, control systems, and methods to prevent the loss and/or compromise of classified information or material in a special access program (SAP).
  • You will assist the team lead to ensure all Special Access Program Facilities (SAPFs) are accredited and properly managed.
  • You will process all personnel security questionnaires (PSQ) as well as verify clearances, access, and need to know for program employees and visitors by utilizing the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) or other Navy official databases.
  • You will coordinate with program Local Element manager to ensure all COMSEC equipment is properly handled, safeguarded, and stored.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

(DA-03): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5/8) or pay band (DA-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Applying critical thinking and problem solving skills to complete assigned tasks; 2) Utilizing MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat to draft, analyze, format, or publish correspondence, spreadsheets, reports, memos, or briefing materials; 3) Demonstrated experience applying security concepts, principles and practices to review, analyze and resolve security problems; 4) Applying knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) Information and Personnel Security program regulations and Physical Security manuals to complete assignments; 5) Interacting within a team environment.

(DA-02): Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band (DA-01) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; 2) Plan and organize work; and 3) Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

(DA-03): A master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or a LL.B. or J.D., if related.
