Duties

Help

Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Electronic Combat Support Flight.

Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

Represents the Electronic Combat Support Flight with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Provides guidance for the development of EW mission data and evaluates the operational effectiveness of solutions to determine suitability for fielding.

Analyzes, develops, and evaluates detailed plans, goals, and objectives for long-range implementation of assigned programs.

  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
  • Rated military aviator is required while Electronic Warfare Officer experience is desired as driving factor for EW advisor to AFSOC, preferably in special operations aircraft, and is critical to the successful completion of the work. Cond't....

  • In-depth knowledge of special operations missions and tactics, headquarters staff experience, and an operational test background with electronic warfare systems is highly desired for successful completion of the work.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series 0301

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of command level plans and programs for conducting major operations such as special operations flight and mission, as they relate to aircraft survivability, electronic warfare, and situational awareness. Knowledge of Special Operations/other assigned weapons systems (aircraft) and operational employment of their associated defensive systems. Knowledge of personnel management, EEO, and safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-inĀ­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Mastery of USAF EW doctrine, the Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming process; application and execution. Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of command level plans and programs for conducting major operations such as special operations flight and mission, as they relate to aircraft survivability, electronic warfare, and situational awareness.

Knowledge of Special Operations/other assigned weapons systems (aircraft) and operational employment of their associated defensive systems.

Knowledge of personnel management, EEO, and safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of organization through subordinate supervisors and to mentor and motivate the staff.

Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.

Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
