Duties

Help

Loads and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from tracks, dollies, etc, moves heavy boxes, cartons, or luggage by hand, handtruck, or dolly; opens crates and boxes using crowbars, and cuts bands using shears; stacks boxes and cartons where directed. Takes items recycle center, hazmat and other disposal sites. Performs groundskeeping tasks such as moving sand and dirt with a shovel, filling holes on playgrounds and sports fields, and weeding. Levels bumps and low spots using a shovel, hand tamper, and rake. Operates hand lawnmowers and domestic-type powered lawnmowers. Clears small trees and bushes using a handsaw, hatchet, or clippers. Removes pests and insects throughout the facility and grounds. Power washes exterior facilities and playground equipment. Assembles furniture, toys, and various pieces of equipment upon delivery. Moves and arranges furniture as directed to support program needs. Performs minor sanding and painting tasks to maintain the appearance of facilities. Changes light bulbs and assists with minor upkeep on appliances. Assists with minor preventative maintenance on vehicles. Moves and arranges furniture as directed; shovels snow from sidewalks; washes and waxes cars and trucks by hand or power buffer

  • This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.

Qualifying Experience:
This is an entry level position and no minimum qualifications are required for this position. Ability to use, control, and clean common handtools, and simple power equipment. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
