Duties

Help
  • Consults on matters pertaining to the availability and management of network health care administration and delivery.
  • Monitors network trends and recommends actions to improve network adequacy.
  • Performs reviews, special analyses, studies and evaluations of the operations requirements necessary for the integrated delivery of health care in the region.
  • Implements partnership agreements to ensure optimization of healthcare resources.
  • Provides recommendations to resolve a wide variety of complex and controversial healthcare issues.
  • Develops and refines appropriate metrics intended to monitor progress toward achieving goals.
  • Interprets laws, regulations, policies and procedures from Congressional legislation, Department of Defense, Agency and other applicable guidance.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Basic Requirements for Health System Specialist GS-0671-13

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring healthcare network trends to recommend improvements, developing metrics to measure network adequacy to ensure policy compliance, and analyzing program workload data to resolve healthcare issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
