Duties

Help

  • Performs tasks involved in preparing and serving customers with snacks and beverages including coffee and made to order espresso beverages.
  • Orders food items to be sold (ie. Muffins, biscotti, snacks, etc.) and ensures retail stock is replenished as needed.
  • Arranges items in an appealing marketing display for sale.
  • Operates cash register and prepares necessary documentation for cash funds accountability.
  • May assist in taking inventory.
  • Performs housekeeping tasks and is accountable for maintaining a safe, clean workplace.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • Must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of the hiring base. This information will be based on the address listed on your resume and USAJOBS. Or military spouses as applicable to the law.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must be able to lift weights up to 30 pounds and return them to proper storage.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of basic food handling techniques.
  • Ability to follow oral instructions and perform routine manual tasks involving few steps.
  • Must use judgment in sequencing tasks and be able to concentrate on uniform individual portions and to avoid distraction when serving several people at a time.
  • Must have an understanding of personal hygiene standards and simple food handling techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic and cash handling techniques.
  • Must have a working knowledge how to operate and clean the coffee machines.
  • Must be able to follow and relay instructions.
  • Exercise tact, good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting both customers and employees.
