Duties

Help

The primary purpose of the position is to perform specialized intelligence duties as a Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) unit crew commander and to train assigned military unit members in the duties and functions associated with multi-intelligence (multi-INT) Tasking, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TPED) activities.

  • Serves as a ISR unit crew commander, responsible and accountable for all facets of ISR unit operations and production to include time critical targeting (TCT), direct threat warning, battle damage assessment, combat identification, combat search and rescue, multi-INT correlation, threat analysis, mapping, intelligence preparation of the battlespace, situation monitoring, and mission reporting.
  • Assesses incoming and exploited mission data and provides cross-cueing sensor/tip-offs to other platforms and exploitation sections improving multi-INT correlation.
  • Provides input on performance evaluation, career guidance, and technical assistance to full-time and traditional intelligence personnel.
  • Reviews and approves post-mission reports containing the analysis derived from each exploitation function.
  • Briefs analysis findings and estimates to the unit commander and mission planners.
  • Assures ISR unit crews maintain the capability to provide timely and accurate operational intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel during exercises and contingency operations.
  • Recognized as an organization expert within functional assignment.
  • Coordinates ISR unit training requirements with gaining command intelligence section.
  • Plans, organizes, establishes, and manages the methodology for deployment and conduct of intelligence operations during contingency operations.
  • Prepares and manages the budgeting of fiscal resources for the ISR unit.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the ND Air National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top secret/Special Compartmented Information security clearance.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • May be required to perform shift work and/or work uncommon tours on short notice.
  • This is an officer position. It is being offered current officers and as a commissioning opportunity for enlisted members. The selectee must meet the rank requirements prior to being appointed into the position.

COMPATIBILE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 14NX

AFSC is not a disqualifying factor of eligibility, however, selected applicant must obtain the compatible AFSC.


QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE
Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have the experience, education, or training which demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others, to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts to prepare clear and concise written reports.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant mustpossess at least one year of specialized experience at the GS 11 grade level or civilian equivalent which includes: 1) Developing and recommending policy; 2) Evaluating intelligence programs to make recommended changes in methods of intelligence operations; 3) Experience collecting, evaluating, and organizing facts to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports; 4) Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required dealing with others efficiently and effectively.
