The incumbent will serve as the Environmental Services (EVS) Coordinator responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted housekeeping operations for the entire NIH Clinical Center as well as for the CRC Institute Laboratory Space, food service cafeterias of the NIH Clinical Center, the Cloisters and the Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge.

Duties

Help

  • Plans, organizes, directs, manages, and reviews all environmental service programs.
  • Plans, directs and maintains the sanitary environmental services program to prevent the spread of infections and or diseases, to improve the status flow of every patient and bed in the hospital, to facilitate admission, discharge, and bed cleaning and to maintain a cross contaminate free environment.
  • Serves as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) Level III for the Environmental Services Contract for the NIH CC and is authorized to act on behalf of the Department in matters related to monitoring and overseeing the technical and programmatic aspects of the contract.
  • The position has delegated authority as a first level supervisor but spends less than 25% of the time on supervisory responsibilities.

  • The use of protective clothing or gear such as laboratory coats, fume hoods, safety goggles, radiation badges, aprons, gloves, and shields may be required.
  • This is a Tier 1 "Emergency Employee" position.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: (1) Participating in the quality assurance evaluation of a Clinical Environmental Services Program; (2) Coordinating the implementation of practices/ processes for the improvement of a Clinical Environmental Services Program; (3) Initiating and awarding procurement of services or commodities in a clinical setting; (4) Preparing and disseminating contractor services statements of work, evaluation criteria, and sole source justifications of services for assigned project awards; (5) Providing technical guidance and communication with internal and external stakeholders.

You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
