Summary

Painting one-of-a-kind pieces of casework such as consoles and cabinets.
Work from oral instructions, blueprints, work orders and rough sketches.
Plan and lay out work to be done, select the proper tools, determine materials to be used and accomplish the work in accordance with appropriate methods and accepted trade practices.
Ensure site is clean of all debris and equipment upon completion of work.
Erect or suspend scaffolding in the performance of duties and be responsible for the proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Mix all types of paints such as base coat paint, interior paints and finishing exterior paints.
Skilled in the application of paints in around door frames, window frames, walls as well as molding and base cover and in accenting areas.
Work Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday 7:00am - 3:30pm, 3:00pm -11:30pm, 11:00pm -7:30am or Sunday to Thursday 7:00am - 3:30pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm, 11:00pm -7:30am or Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm, 3:00pm - 11:30pm, 11:00pm - 7:30am. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The work is done inside and outside, and dirt, spray, and fumes are usually present. The painting workers are sometimes required to prepare and coat surfaces outside in bad weather. Occasionally, they may be required to wear protective equipment and clothing that are sometimes heavy and uncomfortable. The painting workers are frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises. They may occasionally be exposed to the possibility of broken bones. In patient care areas, PPE may be required to include a respirator/PAPR as to protect against potential air or bloodborne pathogens. The incumbent will be assigned to either the ride-out team or recovery team during hurricanes or other extreme weather events.
