Duties

Help

Works under the Supervision of the Community Center Manager to perform the full range of programming for the Community Center. Plans and administers a diversified event and gaming programs by providing professional expertise in developing, implementing, and conducting Community Center Programs for DoD Cardholders and their families. Offers programs in personal and professional development, which relate to performing arts, leisure, recreation, educational and family life skills within established agency policy and objectives. Plans programs according to compliance with Air Force policies. Coordinates schedule Community Center events with other related agencies to avoid conflicts. Utilize the local community to develop partnerships and programs for the Community Center (i.e. Chamber of Commerce). Coordinates and maintains calendar of Community Center Program Events at the Community Center. Prepares and manages APF and NAF budgets and quarterly adjustments for programs. Partners and works with Community Programs and Recreation (CP&R) Office, so active-duty military can utilize community center programs down range. Conducts formal and informal assessments, solicits ideas for programs, and develops and assists the Manager in designing and executing a comprehensive program of activities, services, and/or events to meet the serviced population. Uses base surveys, focus groups and customer feedback to evaluate existing programs and makes recommendations to improve, enhance and develop new programs. Plan, organize, schedule, and execute recurring and non-recurring recreational programming. Coordinate gaming tournaments, Local Area Network (LAN) parties, movie nights, social, holiday events, trivia nights, enrichment classes and special activities. Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual event calendars. Coordinate room setups, seating arrangements, decorations, signage, and event logistics. Support operations for gaming lounges, gaming pods, and esports activities. Monitor gaming equipment, consoles, accessories, and streaming/display systems. Ensure facility rules, safety standards, and customer conduct expectations are enforced. Maintain attendance records, event reports, inventories, and budget tracking documentation. Maintains a filing system to include items such as Purchase Card (P-card) purchases, after action reports, and calendars for future reference. Assist leadership with strategic planning initiatives and special projects. Support supply ordering, equipment accountability, and operational reporting requirements. Create promotional materials, flyers, social media posts, and digital advertisements for programs and events. Promote participation and increase community engagement through marketing initiatives. Plans, prepares and presents briefings and other oral presentations as required. Meets periodically with the Supervisor and Flight Chief to brief on programming, planning and updates. Maintains real property inventory and comply with directives to ensure Air Force assets are protected. Must work an uncommon tour of duty which includes nights, weekends, and Holidays.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Applicants must have practical experience in developing, planning, organizing, and carrying out projects and programs in a Community Center or related program that involved performing broader projects described in the duties and responsibilities above. Have practical experience and general knowledge of organizational principles and practices and ability to perform financial, program, facility, inventory, and personnel management. Have skill to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Be able to speak, read, and write the English Language. Ability to make decisions and work effectively under the pressure of timelines and rigid deadlines. Experience using Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience must demonstrate the ability to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, recognize solutions, and plan and organize work. Have experience in a customer service setting with the ability to perform common arithmetic problems, budgeting and cash handling, a year experience desirable. Possess skill in dealing with the public. Physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position is does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
