Observe construction projects at all stages to identify problems and take timely action to resolve problems encountered. Interpret contract specifications for area of field construction.
Determine if construction meets contract requirements.
Direct inspections of construction operations for compliance with intent of design and specifications.
Recommend changes in design, specifications, and schedules to accommodate conditions as the construction site or to expedite construction efforts.
Serve as first-line supervisor with responsibility for the technical and administrative supervision of the section, assisting the Design Management Section Chief.
Review project plans and specifications for engineer and/or architectural projects.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
One year trial/probationary period may be required. Supervisory probationary period may be required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. This requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated on a pre-appointment basis.
This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain an official US passport and VISA as applicable based on duty location.

The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by at least one of the following:(1) Related Curriculum - Degree in architectural engineering provided the completed course work in architectural engineering provided knowledge, skills, and abilities substantially equivalent to those provided in the courses specified in statement A above, or(2) Experience: 1 year of experience in an architect's office or in architectural work for each year short of graduation from a program of study in architecture. In the absence of any college courses, 5 years of such experience is required.
