This Investigative Analyst for Affirmative Civil Enforcement provides support to the United States Attorney's Office by conducting investigative analyses in support of legal matters by developing information-gathering strategies, reviewing and interpreting large volumes of data, and identifying patterns indicative of criminal or fraudulent activity.
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Investigative Analyst support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of New Hampshire, located in Concord, New Hampshire, focusing in the areas of information and data analysis, investigative research, and case support.
Typical work assignments will include:
Researching and analyzing investigative information using inductive and deductive reasoning to identify trends, verify facts, and evaluate the validity of raw data.
Collecting, organizing, and preserving documents and evidence.
Developing charts, graphs, and audiovisual materials to visually present findings for investigators, attorneys, motions, and trials.
Supporting investigations by identifying, developing, and analyzing routine investigative leads and case information.
Coordinating with attorneys, investigators, court personnel, witnesses, and law enforcement to exchange information, plan work efforts, and assist with case preparation.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (3) of the (4) duties listed below:
Using reasoning skills to look at raw data, check if it is correct, and draw accurate conclusions that help with routine investigative work;
Gathering and reviewing information from known sources, using standard fact-finding steps to spot useful intelligence;
Utilizing established methods to sort, organize, and prepare evidence, documents, and records so investigators and attorneys can easily use them; and/or
Writing and presenting clear, simple summaries that explain what you found during your research and support the development of a case.

Education: Two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL. B or J.D., in a related field of study to the position (e.g., Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Forensic Science, Homeland Security, Sociology). Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.

Combination of Experience and Education: Graduate level education can be used if, when combined, are equivalent to 100% of the qualification requirement. Only graduate level education in excess of the first full year can be used in this calculation.
