Help

You will serve as a Materials Handler Leader and be responsible for insuring the uninterrupted supply of uniform items and associated supplies for the world-wide uniform needs of Coast Guard men and women, active duty, the reserves, auxiliarists, federal agencies, foreign governments under treaty and authorized patrons. The position also requires the use of leadership skills and techniques to insure effective uniform provisioning.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

  • Conducts cycle counts and wall-to-wall inventory audits on warehouse stocks and uniform items to ensure inventory accuracy, accountability, and proper stock location management through visual inspections and adjustment reporting.
  • Assigns, distributes, and balances warehouse workloads and team assignments among employees to ensure timely completion of warehouse operations in accordance with established priorities, workflow requirements, and production deadlines.
  • Communicate assignments, priorities, deadlines, and operational requirements to warehouse personnel to support effective coordination of work activities and accomplishment of team goals and objectives.
  • Prepares inventory, production, and administrative reports and maintains warehouse records to provide supervisors with accurate information regarding work accomplishments, inventory status, and operational progress.
  • Operates mechanized warehouse equipment and computerized inventory systems to receive, store, move, and track materials and requisition data in support of warehouse and material handling operations.
  • Applies knowledge of warehouse methods, procedures, material handling techniques, and storage requirements to support safe, efficient, and accurate warehouse operations and inventory control activities.
