About the position:

This position will be assigned to the Fitness Center on Nellis AFB, NV.

This position is an NTE position, not to exceed 30 September 2026.

Flexible employees have no guaranteed hours but may work up to 40 hours per week. This position does not offer benefits.

Requires physical ability to demonstrate use of fitness equipment. Must be able to lift overhead and carry items up to 45 pounds.

Subject to an uncommon tour of duty and required use of uniform.

Duties

Help

Operates a customer service front desk by greeting customers; answers incoming telephone calls; ensures only authorized patrons use of the facility and equipment; ensures adherence to rules, regulations, and policies; Attempts to resolve customer complaints; collects fitness center contractor payments; maintains a reservation system for sprots courts and fields; provides general information regarding scheduled events and classes; issues and receives equipment; maintains indoor facility to include annotating hourly head counts; reports safety infractions and potential mishaps; inspects check-out items to ensure items are in good repair; reports items returned which do not meet satisfactory conditions; inventories, restocks, and displays check-out times; provides supervisor with a list of items that need to be ordered; sets up fitness, sports, and recreation areas for scheduled activities; notifies participants of schedule changes; properly safeguards funds; ensures reserved areas are ready for use by customers; ensures lockers are clean and operable. Cleans fitness center areas and equipment as needed, returns weight equipment and accessories to proper racks and locations; addresses policy violations when observed. Washes and dries towels and uniforms as needed. Assists in setting up facilities, grounds and equipment for programs and special functions and performs minor maintenance or repairs on equipment as needed; performs opening and closing procedures of facilities IAW written guidelines.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience in responsible clerical or other office work of any kind that demonstrated the ability to perform the duties of the position. Ability to resolve common math problems and receive payments from contractors. Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, procedures, equipment, skill, and use in maintenance of various recreational facilities is desirable. Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
