Help
  • Serves as a technical advisor, developing and managing a multi-faceted security program that integrates personnel, physical, information, industrial, and IT security for SCI facilities.
  • Manages the personnel security program for compartmented programs, including SCI access nominations, security investigations, continuous vetting, and foreign travel briefings.
  • Manages and maintains security systems and alarms, directs vulnerability tests, and implements countermeasures to mitigate risks and protect SCI facilities and programs.
  • Directs and administers all physical security measures, conducts site inspections for compliance, and provides recommendations to maintain a sound security posture for the command.
  • Coordinates security for visits, protects information systems, reviews intelligence and incident reports to assess vulnerabilities, and manages industrial security measures for contracts.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) as a condition of employment.
  • Incumbent must undergo as directed and successfully complete periodic Counter- Intelligence Polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated for the duration of federal employment and while maintaining access to Special Compartmented Information.
  • This is a Mission Essential position and incumbent must physically report to their duty station in certain situations where non-essential employees are excused.
  • Incumbent may be placed in a 24/7 standby or recall status and be required to carry a mobile phone or other similar device to be directly recalled to duty from a recall roster.
  • The incumbent may also be required to physically report to an alternate duty station during the activation of a Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plan.
  • Incumbent must, within six months of appointment, graduate from the Director of National Intelligence SSO course.
  • Within six months of appointment must be able to obtain and maintain AT Level 2 Certification.
  • As a Defense Security Position (DSP), individuals occupying positions designated as DSPs are required to meet certification requirements of the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Program.
  • The incumbent of this position is required to obtain and maintain Tier 1 Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC).

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as performing duties such as developing, implementing, or managing a multi-faceted security program. This could include administering personnel security, physical security, or industrial security policies and procedures for sensitive or compartmented information programs.

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-12 grade level.

  • This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.
  • If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment.
  • This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service.
  • A three-year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
  • Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination
  • Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.
  • This position requires pre-employment and periodic counter-intelligence polygraph exams.

  • This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.

  • PPP Application Based Preference eligibles (Military Reserve and National Guard technicians, Military Reserve and National Guard technicians receiving disability retirement, and Retained Grade employees) will receive priority consideration at the full performance level only.
