Appointment. This appointment is governed by provisions of 10 USC ยง 8748 as delegated by the Secretary of the Navy, and the regulations of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management that apply to "Excepted" appointments under Schedule A. For appointment at the rank of Professor (AD-7), the initial term of appointment is expected to be two years in length with provision for renewal dependent on performance. Education
Required Qualifications and Competencies: An earned doctorate, current experience and substantial credentials as an educator and scholar in one or more of the following areas: professional military ethics, moral philosophy, or virtue ethics is required. An established scholarly record and research credentials appropriate for the rank of Professor is required. A significant academic grounding in classical virtue ethics is desired. Program director experience is desired.
Demonstrated experience as an academic team leader and familiarity with the United States military, specifically Department of the Navy, is desired.
