The successful candidate will perform the full range of Senior Allegations Specialist duties.

Such duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provides coordination, oversight, and expertise in administering and responding to allegations, including initial assessment of information, facts, and circumstances.
  • Interviews concerned individuals (allegers).
  • Evaluate safety and/or security significance.
  • Recommend actions at the allegation review boards.
  • Coordinates and maintains receipt, coordination, management, and closeout of allegations.
  • Monitors resolution of allegations.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as having thorough knowledge of inspection, investigation, or analysis techniques to ensure compliance with, adherence to, or enforcement of legal and NRC regulatory requirements and other mandatory guidelines. Knowledge of NRC policy and policy and procedures regarding granting, maintaining, and releasing confidentiality.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of the underlying principles, theories, and practices involving the NRC's program for the management and resolution of allegations concerning safety and regulatory issues. This includes a working knowledge of the applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidance concerning allegations, including Management Directive 8.8.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of inspection, investigations, or analysis techniques to ensure compliance with adherence to, or enforcement of legal and NRC regulatory requirements and other mandatory guidelines.
  3. Demonstrated ability to interpret and provide clear guidance and advice to NRC managers and others on NRC's allegation management policies, and demonstrated ability to lead or participate in a team evaluation of a licensee's allegation management or employee concerns program.
  4. Analytical ability sufficient to plan, organize and perform a variety of program and administrative management functions and activities involving competing priorities and deadlines.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively with, and establish rapport with, concerned individuals, to efficiently and thoroughly obtain appropriate information, and to provide information regarding the resolution of their concerns. Ability to communicate information, ideas, and advice in a clear, concise, and logical manner, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, senior NRC management in headquarters or regions, members of the public, or other Federal or State agencies.
