Help
  • You will develop plans and conduct the technical support aspects and serves as a technical consultant to the Director of OESB, Commanding Officer and Executive Director of NOSSA, OPNAV, Budget Submitting Offices and activities Navy-wide.
  • You will serve as technical advisor on industrial waste and pollution problems involving multi-media environmental concerns and explosive safety and is a technical expert in the field of ordnance environmental regulatory compliance.
  • You will serve as a Navy expert on environmental reviews and inspections in understanding problem solving techniques and mitigating the impacts of ordnance and range operations on air and water quality and explosive hazardous waste disposal. issues.
  • You will lead and direct highly technical projects in the areas of explosive safety and environmental protection to meet Navy industrial environmental compliance and explosive safety goals.
  • You will conduct analysis of the scope of current and projected needs and technological alternatives.
  • You will maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art environmental protection regulatory compliance requirements and develops and implements Navy-wide compliance strategies.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying advanced knowledge of Navy's ordnance environmental compliance issues involving multi-media environmental concerns and technical expertise in the field of environmental regulatory compliance integrated with explosives safety criteria with emphasis on Military Munitions Rule and compliance issues.

San Diego, CA: $102,246 - $158,062 PA

This hiring activity, within Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) Headquarters, is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project, which is an alternate personnel system. The NH-03 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13.

This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
