Duties

Help

As an Executive Assistant at the GS-0301- 12 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Provides Executive-Level Administrative and Operational Support. Serves as the primary Executive Assistant to senior leadership, independently planning, organizing, and executing executive support functions.
  • Manages Executive Scheduling, Communications, and Correspondence. Oversees complex calendar management, resolving conflicts and aligning engagements with organizational priorities.
  • Develops Executive Briefings and Decision Support Materials. Prepares comprehensive briefing books, read-ahead materials, and executive summaries by synthesizing complex information from multiple sources.
  • Conducts Research, Analysis, and Strategic Issue Evaluation. Performs in-depth research and analysis of administrative, operational, and organizational issues impacting executive priorities.
  • Gathers and evaluates data from statutes, regulations, policies, and internal/external sources to identify trends, assess implications, and inform leadership decisions.
  • Leads and coordinates cross-organizational special projects and strategic initiatives, while evaluating administrative processes to identify efficiencies, strengthen internal controls, and improve executive office operations.

Qualifications

GS-12 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).

You may qualify at the GS-0301-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level of the Federal Service that included:

  1. Providing executive-level administrative support to senior leadership, including managing complex calendars, coordinating travel, and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations in a high-tempo environment;
  2. Gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing information from statutes, regulations, policies, and multiple data sources to support executive decision-making;
  3. Developing executive-level written products, such as briefing materials, correspondence, reports, and presentations;
  4. Coordinating and managing multiple projects, taskings, or initiatives simultaneously; and
  5. Exercising judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information and prioritizing executive communications.
