Duties

Help

Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced technical specialist. Applies experience and comprehensive knowledge of FAA air traffic control processes and procedures to perform required airspace and procedures analysis.

Serves as a subject matter expert in assigned areas of responsibility to provide expertise on technical matters, programs, and procedures relating to the National Airspace Systems.

Analyzes proposed changes to the National Airspace Systems (NAS) to determine impact and provide suggestions to improve the quality of services and correct deficiencies.

Manages and coordinates assigned programs related to Terminal and Enroute airspace, procedures, and special events.

Independently applies in-depth technical knowledge of the NAS in order to design, develop, modify, or evaluate major systems or programs.

Identifies and resolves challenging problems or issues that often cross organizational boundaries and impact the accomplishment of strategic objectives.

Develops and provides high level presentations sufficient to defend, clarify, and justify recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

Performs other related duties as assigned such as statistical and trend analysis, research, evaluations and studies.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level of FV-I/Level IV or the equivalent FG/GS-13 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. The specialized experience will include: operational experience or direct technical involvement in civilian and/or military air traffic operations or airspace analysis; experience and knowledge of the National Airspace System (NAS) procedures, principles, and facilities; experience with Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations and procedures; experience with 91 CFR Part 101, Commercial Space, or Emergency Management operations and procedures.
