The purpose of the Marketing Assistant is to serve as the primary customer service representative and operator at the front of the Studio 71 Print Shop, managing daily operations including order intake, production, cash handling, and customer service. Provides customer service support for marketing and print production requests, including tracking projects, providing quotes for potential clients, and estimating the time required to complete projects. Maintains inventory and stock of printed materials and assists customers with custom design and print needs. Receives payment, takes invoices, and ensures proper cash handling documentation is filed. Assists in developing concepts and designing materials, including newsletters, invitations, social media graphics, advertisements, flyers, posters, banners, and other promotional items. Contributes to the design of artwork and ideas, demonstrating illustrative skills using innovation to redefine a design at minimum cost and time. Utilizes Canva and Adobe Illustrator to prepare print-ready layouts and complete bulk orders. Prints promotional items using the color copier, poster printer, and other basic clerical equipment. Reviews the finished products to produce accurate, high-quality work and ensure timely completion of deliverables. Assists the marketing team with brainstorming, advertising, and marketing strategies. Works closely with the team to gather and share information regarding squadron programs, events, and activities, helping develop ideas for event graphics, social media content, and base personnel engagement. Assists with graphic updates on the FSS App, Website, and social media pages. Manages and maintains graphic files, including photos, logos, and art. Monitors the installations marketing signage, ensuring timely updates for outdoor displays, kiosks, and marquee boards. Provides photographic support for FSS functions. Participates in Newcomers briefings and special events as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in a customer service role working with internal and external customers. Must have a knowledge of basic creative design and social media products. Must have experience using Microsoft Products. Must have experience in retail or shop operations, including inventory management and the operation of office or production-grade printing equipment. Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Illustrator, or Web Design is highly desirable. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
