Duties

Help
  • Serve as a Housing Manager in the Directorate of Public Works at a large multi-mission installation.
  • Perform broad management functions with the planning, management, administration, and implementation of an installation housing program.
  • Oversee the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) data collection and reports submission.
  • Develop technical guidance and plans based on Army Command Policies to meet installation housing goals.
  • Directs the formulation of housing improvement plans within the framework of generally established Army objectives, policies, and standards.
  • Approve financial work plans for execution within approved resources.
  • Safeguard the technical direction and contract performance are following the installation’s mission.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires temporary duty travel from the duty station up to 25 percent of the time.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  • This position requires the incumbent to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 filed annually.
  • This position may require after hours call-back for emergencies.
  • This position is an inclement weather essential position, and the incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • This position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes demonstrated experience in 1) Administering housing management programs within a large-scale organization; 2) Developing short and long-range strategies to meet organizational requirements; 3) Experience in managing contractual agreements for a sizeable housing organization. 4) Overseeing the budget for housing programs. 5) Experience in conducting inspections/audits to determine housing conditions to ensure compliance is being met. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
