Duties

Help

  • Support and assist in the planning, organizing, and analysis of productivity programs and resources while ensuring compliance with regulations, laws, policies, and AFSC/PK directives.
  • Perform other work in support of the office automation.
  • Support planning and organizing activities of the organization, while assisting the directorate/division/SMEs in the management of program functions.
  • Depending on location, may serve as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the personnel flight on military and civilian personnel issues.
  • Act as one of the points of contact for all newly assigned personnel; supports orienting new personnel regarding the basic functions of the organization, introduces them to key personnel and may support coordinating their initial training/orientation requirements.

  • WORK ENVIRONMENT - The work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring the use of normal safety precautions necessary for an office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have, or within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement will have, at least 1 year (52 weeks) of general experience which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade (GS-04), level, pay band (NK-01), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc). General experience is described as: Experience assisting with the development, establishment, updates, and maintaining of office procedures and records/files of various types to ensure effective and efficient operation of the office; based on administrative support program requirements, helping to aid with determining administrative needs, and assures these needs are met; experience helping to identify and implement processes which can be improved or made more efficient through application of automated technology or other methods. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

EDUCATION:
Applicant has successfully completed two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Applicant has equivalent combinations of successfully completed post high school education and experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities of an organization and the ability to gather, analyze and present facts in providing program support within the organization.
  • Knowledge of extensive rules, procedures, or operations applied to management assignments to perform the procedural work of the office, such as preparing and editing documents, locating and assembling information for various reports, maintaining electronic files/records, utilizing Enterprise Information Management tools, and making and preparing travel arrangements.
  • Knowledge of office functions and commitments, combined with expertise in protocol procedures, enables support of organizational events, visitor reception, preparation and review of correspondence, and performance of other substantive work for the organization.
  • Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports.
  • Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support and enhance office operations by producing a variety of documents: letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, graphs; adhering to electronic records management procedures; as well as building Enterprise Information Management sites.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Hill Air Force Base provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Minuteman III ICBM, and performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10, and C-130 Hercules aircraft. The base is located between Ogden and Salt Lake City. The area is known for year round activities, including skiing, hiking, boating, extreme sports, fishing and hunting, with four distinct seasons, low humidity and moderate snow fall in the valley..

This is an acquisition demonstration project position NK- equivalent to a GS-05 to GS-07.
