Duties

Help
  • Provides a wide variety of accounting, budgeting and financial management functions to a large installation, major command or headquarters.
  • Applies accounting concepts to solve problems, render advice, or to meet other needs of the installation, Macom or Headquarters.
  • Formulates budget guidance based on new or discontinued requirements and fiscal objectives.
  • Develops program execution guidance, program review and evaluation. Contributes to the development of accounting and budget systems for use in meeting financial reporting requirements.
  • May direct and administer audit activities. Directs, computes, analyzes, adjusts and presents statistical data to assure maximum benefit from financial resources. Directs subordinate staff.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  • Specialized experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties described above using the theories, principles, practices, and techniques of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Ability to apply knowledge in reviewing, analyzing, revising, and recommending approval, disapproval or modification of budget requests and justifications.
  • Documented experience must have been equivalent in complexity and difficulty to the next lower grade/level.
  • Supervisory experience directing technical and professional financial management operations.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
  • Must possess a combination of experience and education (possess a bachelor's degree with a major in a business discipline, i.e., accounting, financial management).
