Duties

Help
  • Plans major renovations and construction projects, based on forecasted building and land utilization.
  • Formulates and puts into effect sustainable operations and maintenance plans, to include economical space and work management operations policies, criteria, and procedures.
  • Develops, evaluates, and implements immediate and long-range goals, objectives, budget projections, plans and schedules to meet substantial changes in program authority and/or funding.
  • Assignments include tasks related to the museum building, amphitheater, parade field, Army trail and grounds operations, maintenance and utilization.
  • Assures facilities and their operations comply with laws and regulations.
  • Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative on engineering, maintenance, and service contracts.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Managing facility operations and maintenance programs for a large organization; 2) Developing and implementing plans, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient use and upkeep of buildings and grounds; 3) Overseeing facility contracts and coordinating with contractors to ensure quality service delivery and compliance with requirements; 4) Planning and executing facility projects, including renovations and repairs, to support organizational needs; AND 5) Monitoring facility safety, security, and environmental compliance.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

  • This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
