Duties

Help

Responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all operations of the Outdoor Adventure program (Paintball, archery, & Mission Lake) facilities. Plans, organizes & coordinates the details of recurring & nonrecurring activities & special events, to include such activities as backpacking, rockclimbing, mountaineering, fishing, white water rafting, kayaking, caving, biking etc. Assist the supervisor by implementing higher level directives, fomulating procedures & programs to ensure high standards of recreation programs. Develops outdoor adventure programs designed to stimulate and sustain the interests of participants. Provides technical advice and assistance to participants regarding the various programs. Instructs and leads outdoor adventure trips, outdoor adventure shops, and clinics; trains volunteer staff as required. Resolves customer complaints, referring more technical complaints the to supervisor. Assists in developing marketing plans, NAF operating budgets, NAF Capital Expenditure budgets; provides input to supervisor and assists in analyzing financial results. Provides day-to-day oversight and work direction to assigned personnel. Identifies training needs and ensures training is received/completed. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in and knowledge of a variety of outdoor adventure programs, facility rules, work procedures, equipment and materials to plan and carry out recurring and special recreational programs. Must have responsible administrative, professional, technical, or other work which has provided a general knowledge of outdoor recreation programs, principles, and practices. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must have the ability to frequently life and carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs with assistance. Frequently stand, stoop, bend, stretch, push and pull. Must be able to drive long distances with large groups of people over improved and unimproved roads. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to work an irregular tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). THIS IS A DRUG TESTING DESIGNATED POSITION. THE INCUMBENT IS SUBJECT TO RANDOM TESTING FOR DRUG USE.

Education
