Summary

This position is located in the Cafeteria located in Building 121 at Naval Support Activity, Crane, IN. The mission of the MWR is to provide facilities and activities that will enhance the morale and welfare of the employees, families and guests. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain accurate stock control records; for supplies, food and beverage. Incumbent performs clerical work regarding the receipt and stocking of all supplies, equipment, etc.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. The incumbent maintains stock records, manually on the computer, and is responsible for ensuring proper amount of supplies are maintained on hand, records all transfers in and out of the stockroom, freezers, and refrigerators.

2. The incumbent stocks items in storerooms, point of sale, freezers and refrigerators and ensures that all areas are clean and meet sanitation regulations.

3. The incumbent ensures units prices are correct at all times, comparing with other suppliers, and makes necessary changes or corrections.

4. The incumbent is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of rebates, special prices, prime vendors, correspondence files, manuals, instructions, records, etc.

5. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess:

The individual must possess knowledge of general office functions and the various aspects of the Cafeteria, including working knowledge of the manuals governing the operation.

The employee should be proficient in math and be able to operate office machines such as a calculator, typewriter, adding machine and computer.

Incumbent must have ability to follow oral instructions and do tasks that are easy to learn.

In addition, because of the need for sanitation and safety common to all food service work, incumbent should know food handling techniques.

This individual should have some knowledge to operate food service equipment, and have the ability to organize workloads.

This person must also have the ability to meet and deal with people.

Education

This position does not have a positive education requirement.
