NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the NG. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the NG must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the NG in the military grade listed in this announcement.

As a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, GS-1152-7, you will:

  • Establish plans, schedules, and controls the maintenance and repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment
  • Conduct initial and long range planning pertaining to routine production processes, mechanical skills
  • Ensures necessary maintenance records are maintained and required reports are submitted to units
  • Authorizes the acceptance of equipment for repair; monitor work priorities, status, and completion of work orders and requisitions
  • Works with other sections within the organization to ensure equipment readiness reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner

Additional Employment Requirements:

-Participation in direct deposit is mandatory

-May be required to successfully complete a probationary period

-Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation

-Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service

  • You may be required to successfully complete a 1- or 2- year probation/trial period to assess performance, conduct, agency needs, public interest, and efficiency. Employment ends unless certified in writing that it advances the agencies interest.

Title 32 Dual-Status Positions:

Military Grade: E4 - E7

Min: SPC and Max: SFC

Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments

Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a *military unit* compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position.

*Military Unit* -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1)

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months experience, education or training working with people from various levels and backgrounds. Experience with a general knowledge of the functions and procedures of production control, records, references, and techniques for developing production control data. Experience assisting or maintaining workflow.

Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for GS-4 positions. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions
